Dear Parents,
Happy Wednesday! Are you feeling stressed as the holidays
draw closer? I pray that you are able to
find a little time to breathe….to pray…..to find a little peace. One of my favorite Christian singer and
songwriters is a woman named Ginny Owens.
She is blind and has been since she was little, and she is such an
inspiration. She is a very spiritual person and it is quite clear that God is
working through her. I came across this
version that she sang live and I wanted to share with you. Enjoy!
Wednesday was our
birthday party for Jesus! The firsties
were paired with their prayer partners and moved to three different
stations.
One station was a craft where
they made a Christmas ornament,
another station they played “musical chairs”,
and
the final station the students worked on puzzles and played games.
Mrs. Feinauer read us a story about the mouse
that has been appearing in all of the different classrooms…..but he doesn’t
have a name yet.
Talk about this with
your firstie. Ask them what the story
was about and then brainstorm a name, for our little name-less mouse. Have your firstie write it down, bring it in,
and we will discuss it as a class.
Fact (or number) families are what we are working on in
Math. Taking three numbers and using
them, to see how they are “related” and what number sentences can be created
using them. For example……3, 7, 10 The
number sentences that can be created would be 10-7=3, 10-3=7, 7+3=10,
3+7=10. The firsties are doing well with
this!
Yesterday, we learned how to write a friendly letter (and we
wrote one to Andy from the story that we read this week “Later, Rover”…which I
thought was a great idea, until one of the kiddos asked if we could mail our
letters to him….).
Thank you to all that were able to donate for the children
involved with the Christmas Caring Program at Wellspring Lutheran
Services! I was able to buy some great
things and those gifts will surely help to enhance a child’s Christmas.
Have a great Friday!
Miss Gallagher
